It is the epitome of what comes to mind when we think of Mexico: Mariachi bands, tequila, great food and colorful architecture. In fact, it is the birthplace of Mariachi. The state of Jalisco is also the original producer of tequila, with the nearby town of Tequila being one of the must-do things for visitors to Guadalajara.

San Cristobal de las Casas is ranked as a Pueblo Mágico or ‘Magic City’. The Mexican tourism board has designated over 100 such towns throughout the country based on their outstanding natural, architectural or cultural importance to the country.
